Description: Blackcap Basslets are stunning, vibrant purple fish with a black stripe running from the top of their head to part of the dorsal fin. This fish can be found around vertical cliffs and drop-offs in the outer regions of coral reefs in the Caribbean. The Blackcap Basslet is a cave dweller, often found hanging out upside down. They will retreat into the rockwork whenever they are startled. This fish is timid at first, but it will quickly become more confident and outgoing as it becomes established in the tank. The Blackcap Basslet is hardy and an awesome choice for both novice and expert aquarists alike. This fish can be added to any size aquarium and will enthusiastically eat any prepared food. Be sure to provide plenty of rockwork to ensure this fish feels comfortable.  Do not mix the Blackcap Basslet with any other basslets, such as Royal Grammas.
